Need Your Help - From My Dad

note from Jessica----
This is from my Dad. He asked that I help him
get this out which has got to be the sweetest thing anyone has
ever done for me. He and my Mom came across this contest and they
wanted to enter my name. What is so moving to me is that they
actually know what I do and moreover, they are really proud of me.
There isn't anything better; I feel so amazingly blessed and supported.

P.S. If you can help out, please leave a comment so that I can give you a
ton of thanks.
----- Jessica

Hello to you all,

involvement with the young emerging leaders of our community.

Jesse Norwood's Submission

I am proud to place in nomination a young African American woman, who made a courageous step in our community by challenging other young people to make a difference. Jessica started a network of emerging change makers over three years ago to help our community help itself by getting young leaders to step up their awareness and involvement of issues.

Our neighborhood and others across Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana benefit from this network of assertive young people. After Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, Jessica’s network went to work almost overnight to get volunteers from around the country in an effort to assist the people of New Orleans and Mobile in their recovery efforts.

Jessica’s efforts contributed to hundreds of volunteers from around the country
from colleges to faith based groups coming to work in these neighborhoods hand and hand with local agencies to speed the recovery. Jessica’s work in nearly twenty distinct communities around the region continues today in the form of environmental awareness and responsibility, local activism and policy development and analysis for those in traditionally marginalized communities. We need more Jessica’s and those of the Emerging ChangeMakers Network.

Thank you for your help and support.

Jesse, Stephani, Brandon, Justin, Grandpa, Mrs. Gayle, G-Ma, Momma and all of her friends and family.
